No matter how far removed you are from the harrowing days of puberty and tweenhood, you never forget how hard growing into your body isβespecially for young girls. Living in a world that capitalizes on insecurities while watching your body change as a young woman can feel like a lot to handle and can affect the relationship women have with their bodies long past those early years. Itβs for that reason that body care brand Flamingo has teamed up with the Girl Scouts of the USA for a groundbreaking campaign aimed at helping young girls love their bodies for all the right reasons from the get-go.
FlamingoΒ and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) Launch theΒ Body Appreciation Program
Participating in the Girl Scouts of the USA is a pivotal part of growing up as a young girl in America for millions nationwide, and while the lessons taught in the program are deeply important for a well-rounded, empathetic, empowered upbringing, there has long been a gap in how the organization can support girlsβ self-image in such a sensitive era. To fill that space, shaving and body care brand Flamingo is partnering with the institution to launch a nationwide curriculum, the Body Appreciation Program, for girls in grades K-12 across the country learn to love their bodies for all they can do instead of just how they look.
Two years in the making, the Body Appreciation Program was co-developed with expert advisors and guided by insights collected from a national study to help flesh out the best way to instill confidence in the younger generations. Centered around βfun, age-appropriate activities that build confidence, encourage self-care and promote lifelong habits for physical and emotional well-being,β this new initiative is one of the most substantial additions to the Girl Scout curriculum in history. To help ensure this massively important program stays running and changing lives, Flamingo has vowed to provide funding to help widen access to the curriculum so they can keep helping girls everywhere build lifelong confidence.
