Andy Cohen Is Microdosing a GLP-1 for Weight Loss

Fresh off pranking fans about Howard Stern’s show return, Andy Cohen made it clear he isn’t joking about his health. On today’s episode of Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, the Bravo host responded to fan questions about his slimmer appearance and revealed he’s the latest celebrity to admit to using a GLP-1.

β€œFor 20 years, I have been asking people about their body regimens, and that I’ve been pretty vocal about every time I go on a diet here, etc., I do think it would be completely hypocritical not to share that I did this summer lose a good chunk of weight by microdosing a GLP-1 all summer,” Cohen told his cohost John Hill.

Cohen’s Perspective on GLP-1s

The isn’t the first time Cohen has talked about GLP-1 medications on his show, but in the past he’s been critical about celebrities taking the medication. However, today he admitted his perspective on GLP-1s has certainly changed over time. β€œPart of my attitude about it was about people not talking, right? I was like, look, it’s obvious, and that’s why I had always planned to…I feel so strongly that I can’t be the one asking all the personal questions, right of specifically the housewives, how did you do it? What did you do to your face? How did you do the weight loss and then be the guy who suddenly lost 25 pounds but isn’t mentioning it.”

While talking about his recent success with the medication, he framed the decision as part of a larger health journey, noting that his doctor recommended the medication to address both weight and cardiovascular health. β€œMy doctor and I talked about this last year, had recommended a GLP-1 a few times to not only address what I was feeling about my weight, but treat plaque in my arteries and high blood pressure,” Cohen said. β€œThis is a medication that actually is beneficial to a lot of elements of health.”

A Bigger Health Plan

The Watch What Happens Live host also credited his trainer with keeping him on track. β€œMy fitness has never been better. Also, no snacking or excess drinking. I am still drinking, but not crazy. And perhaps the most importantly, I’m not snacking after the craving after I drink.”

Cohen says he feels healthierβ€”and ready to be transparent with his fans. β€œI feel great about this decision. And you know how hypocritical would I be not to say it?… I feel privileged to have access right to a GLP-1, and I think everybody should through insurance. This is a revolutionary drug. I’m so happy also to have been on this journey under the care of a doctor and working with a trainer to make sure that we have done this right.”
