Ben Rector, Idea House + More β’ Kath Eats
Hereβs a bit of fun lately, from a Ben Rector concert, to visiting the Southern Living Idea House, to Clean Juice!
Summer isnβt quite over yet!
Heyo!!! Is everyone back to school?! My boys are into their third week, so theyβve settled in nicely. I love this time of year when we spend Sunday at the pool and theyβre in school on Monday morning! Here are some highlights of the past few weeks.
Ben Rector Concert In DC
A group of friends and I went up to DC for the night to go to a Ben Rector concert! I think this was my 6th or 7th show β he is the best! Ben has such great stage presence and is so entertaining β he talks with the audience a lot!
We stayed at the Citizen M hotel, which is walking distance to the Wharf and The Anthem and was so cool on the inside. My room had a cozy built-in bed and colored shower! It was also so affordable for the DC area. I would totally stay there again.
The show was at The Anthem, and we Ubered over (because it was pretty hot) and then walked back that evening.
We did dinner at Officina, which was Italian. We liked it a lot β especially my blanco Mezcal Negroni and eggplant pasta dish.
The show was fantastic β Ben played all the hits!
Afterwards, we hit up the Sβmores truck! Perfect post-show treat.
The next morning we walked to Toastique and had the best avocado toast and blended coffees!
Then we hit the Metro and drove home!
Clean Juice Cville
I was invited in to try Clean Juice Cville, which is an organic juice and bowl shop located in front of Costco. Their menu was fabulous with lots of juices, smoothies, protein smoothies, bowls, and toasts. Theyβre a USDA-certified organic restaurant, and the menu was impressively large.
I tried the Ocean Waves, a seasonal drink with a coconut cream swirl!
Almond Milk, Banana, Pineapple, Blue Spirulina, Vanilla, Chia Seeds, Honey, Coconut Cream Smear
Plus an avocado toast on sourdough.

Birch lost his second lower tooth!

I can report that Outfoxed is a GREAT game!! Birch and I loved it. And I love that itβs us against the fox so no one cries upon losing π

Southern Living Idea House in Keswick
This year, the Southern Living Idea House is in a neighborhood just outside of Cville! I went with my friend Ivy Haines, who is a realtor with Nest Realty (she is awesome if you are local and need one!!) and Sean to check it out.
The house was gorgeous and is listed for $6.5 million! Geeeez! Look for it in this monthβs Southern Living Magazine. Here are some of the highlights:

Best Of Cville Party
And finally, Ivy was runner up for best realtor! She invited me to the Best of Cville party even though she wasnβt able to attend. The theme was 70s disco, so I went as a flower power girl. It was a fun time!
