The Products Used to Get Meghan Markle’s Viral Glowy Look

When recent photos of Meghan Markle at Paris Fashion Week surfaced, the internet became instantly obsessed with her makeup look, and rightfully so. Markle’s radiant glow was nearly blinding, and it’s all the more impressive when remembering she was fairly fresh off a flight. Celebrity makeup artist Daniel Martin, who also did her wedding makeup, was overwhelmed by the positive feedback on the look and took to Instagram to share some of his secrets.

β€œI did my usual skin prep with her, which is a lot of Tatcha,” says Martin on Instagram. β€œIt’s the skin-care ritual that’s been in my kit and I’ve used on all my clients for years.” However, there was one key change he made that helped amp up Markle’s glow. β€œThe switch up was I actually mixed the Tatcha Longevity Serum ($80) in with the foundation,” which was OrcΓ© Cosmetics Come Closer Serum Foundation ($75). β€œI think that added another level of radiance to her makeup that just made her look even more juicy and glowy.”

Another pro-tip of Martin’s is that our fingers are sometimes our best makeup tool. β€œI use foundation a lot with my hands, so when I apply it I’m applying it like a massage, like I do with my skin care,” he says. β€œI’ll go in with a brush to add more coverage, and then I use a sponge to blend it out, but I never apply foundation with a sponge and I never apply foundation directly to the brush to the face.”

For this look, Markle only had powder placed in the T-zone to cancel out the shine that occurs in the middle of her forehead and around her nose, notes Martin. He used the contour side of Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Cream Contour Duo ($85) like a bronzer. On top of that, he used Tatcha The Serum Stick ($49) for even more added radiance.

β€œWe just wanted to keep everything light, fresh, radiant,” says Martin of the look. β€œShe just flew in, and your skin gets dehydrated on the plane, so I just wanted to bring some hydration back into her skin and just bring some life to it.” He notes that when you come from a fashion background, like him, you understand it’s not about the makeup but rather simply looking beautiful, radiant and polished with skin as the main star.
